El Centro de Pr\u00e1ctica e Investigaci\u00f3n de Humo de Incendios Forestales de la Universidad de Oreg\u00f3n se est\u00e1 lanzando gracias a una subvenci\u00f3n federal de $800,000.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

EUGENE, Oreg\u00f3n \u2014 La Universidad de Oreg\u00f3n abrir\u00e1 un nuevo centro de investigaci\u00f3n que trabajar\u00e1 para investigar los efectos de humo de incendios forestales<\/a> y buscar formas de reducir el riesgo, ya que la duraci\u00f3n y la gravedad de las temporadas de incendios han ido en aumento en Oreg\u00f3n. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

"Sabemos que los incendios forestales no van a desaparecer, entonces, \u00bfc\u00f3mo nos adaptamos a esta nueva realidad del humo de los incendios forestales?", dijo el profesor de investigaci\u00f3n de la U of O Cass Moseley, quien dijo que el centro trabajar\u00e1 en una variedad de frentes para responder a la pregunta de adaptaci\u00f3n. .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El centro est\u00e1 funcionando gracias a los senadores estadounidenses de Oreg\u00f3n, Ron Wyden y Jeff Merkley, quienes obtuvieron $800,000 en fondos de la Agencia de Protecci\u00f3n Ambiental de EE. UU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEste es un tipo de problema de manos a la obra, realmente queremos reunir a personas diversas y ser el facilitador y ayudar a acelerar el grado en que las personas ya se est\u00e1n uniendo para tratar de resolver estos problemas\u201d, dijo Moseley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El nuevo centro se basar\u00e1 en las actividades existentes de la universidad a trav\u00e9s de la\u00a0Programa de mano de obra del ecosistema<\/a>, y tambi\u00e9n involucrar\u00e1 a estudiantes y profesores del Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n en Comunicaci\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica de la Escuela de Periodismo y Comunicaci\u00f3n, entre otros en el campus.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
