WASHINGTON, DC \u2014 Los senadores Jeff Merkley y Ron Wyden anunciaron el martes por la ma\u00f1ana una nueva subvenci\u00f3n que reparar\u00e1 carreteras y puentes da\u00f1ados por fen\u00f3menos meteorol\u00f3gicos como inundaciones e incendios forestales. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seg\u00fan el comunicado, aproximadamente $8.3 millones se destinar\u00e1n al Servicio Forestal de EE. UU. en el marco del programa de ayuda de emergencia del Departamento de Transporte de EE. UU. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLos fondos se utilizar\u00e1n para reparar carreteras y puentes en las carreteras del Servicio Forestal que han sufrido da\u00f1os por fen\u00f3menos meteorol\u00f3gicos extremos\u201d, dice el comunicado. \u201cEste programa ayuda a los estados y agencias federales a pagar gastos inusualmente elevados que resultan de condiciones extraordinarias\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ambos senadores hablaron a favor del premio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLos habitantes de Oregon en todo el estado dependen de carreteras seguras y confiables para realizar negocios, visitar las maravillas naturales ic\u00f3nicas de Oregon y mucho m\u00e1s\u201d, dijo Merkley en el comunicado de prensa. \u201cA medida que enfrentamos tormentas e incendios forestales cada vez m\u00e1s intensos debido al caos clim\u00e1tico, garantizar que estas rutas sean accesibles es crucial para proteger a las comunidades de Oreg\u00f3n.
