{"id":17213,"date":"2023-08-01T14:41:02","date_gmt":"2023-08-01T18:41:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.merkley.senate.gov\/?p=17213"},"modified":"2023-08-01T14:41:03","modified_gmt":"2023-08-01T18:41:03","slug":"getting-immediate-help-to-veterans-in-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.merkley.senate.gov\/es\/getting-immediate-help-to-veterans-in-crisis\/","title":{"rendered":"Obtener ayuda inmediata para veteranos en crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Con demasiados aros y obst\u00e1culos innecesarios en el camino para que los veteranos en crisis reciban ayuda, el Sr. Dan Davis llam\u00f3 a la Administraci\u00f3n de Veteranos (VA) y a la FCC con una recomendaci\u00f3n para simplificar el n\u00famero de tel\u00e9fono de la l\u00ednea directa de suicidio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bajo el sistema anterior, los veteranos militares que buscaban ayuda y asistencia para la prevenci\u00f3n del suicidio llamaban al n\u00famero 1-800 VA para luego ser redirigidos a llamar a otro n\u00famero espec\u00edficamente para la prevenci\u00f3n del suicidio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con alrededor de 22 veteranos que se suicidan cada d\u00eda, el Sr. Davis reconoci\u00f3 que los veteranos en crisis necesitaban una forma m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil de pedir ayuda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despu\u00e9s de no recibir una respuesta del VA, el Sr. Davis recurri\u00f3 al Senador Merkley para que lo ayudara a hacer el trabajo. Fue entonces cuando el equipo de Jeff fue al VA para hacer un seguimiento de la recomendaci\u00f3n del Sr. Davis.
