Desafortunadamente, este no siempre es el caso, pero Jeff y su equipo buscan ayudar siempre que sea posible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amanda Deno, de Oreg\u00f3n, fue diagnosticada con fibrosis pulmonar (PF) en 2016, a la edad de 43 a\u00f1os. La PF es una enfermedad pulmonar cr\u00f3nica y progresiva que dificulta que el torrente sangu\u00edneo reciba cantidades adecuadas de ox\u00edgeno. A las personas con FP generalmente se les da una expectativa de vida de 4 a 6 a\u00f1os desde el diagn\u00f3stico. Incapaz de trabajar, la Sra. Deno se mud\u00f3 de nuevo a la casa de sus padres en Bend, donde solicit\u00f3 la Seguridad de Ingreso Suplementario (SSI). La Administraci\u00f3n del Seguro Social (SSA, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) rechaz\u00f3 su solicitud inicial y ella apel\u00f3 y present\u00f3 una solicitud de audiencia en marzo de 2017. Sus abogados le informaron que debido al retraso en la SSA, no recibir\u00eda la audiencia hasta aproximadamente abril de 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cuando la condici\u00f3n de la Sra. Deno empeor\u00f3, se puso en contacto con Jeff en 2018 en busca de ayuda. Su temor era que sus padres, que ya la estaban apoyando financieramente, tuvieran que asumir la carga de los costos de su funeral y entierro si no se aprobaba su SSI antes de que falleciera. Durante esta terrible experiencia, los abogados de Amanda hab\u00edan dejado de responder a su tel\u00e9fono y mensajes de correo electr\u00f3nico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El equipo de Jeff descubri\u00f3 que los abogados de la Sra. Deno no hab\u00edan hecho nada desde marzo de 2017. La oficina de Jeff present\u00f3 una &quot;solicitud de necesidad extrema&quot; que puede acelerar las audiencias en la SSA para aquellos con necesidades extremas de atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica para que su solicitud de audiencia se traslade al pr\u00f3xima ranura abierta.
