La presidenta de SWOCC, la Dra. Patty Scott, hab\u00eda discutido los retrasos del proyecto con Jeff mientras estaba en Bandon en enero, y cuando estos retrasos continuaron hasta febrero, la universidad se comunic\u00f3 con Jeff para obtener ayuda con una necesidad cr\u00edtica: una carta de autorizaci\u00f3n del&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.achp.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Consejo Asesor de Preservaci\u00f3n Hist\u00f3rica<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;(ACHP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A pesar del hecho de que la Administraci\u00f3n Federal de Desarrollo Econ\u00f3mico (EDA, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) ya hab\u00eda asignado fondos para el nuevo edificio de la universidad, se hab\u00edan estancado debido a retrasos desde diciembre. El sitio para su nuevo edificio se encuentra en un terreno designado como propiedad hist\u00f3rica, y la universidad estaba atrapada en una mara\u00f1a de tr\u00e1mites burocr\u00e1ticos con el ACHP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La EDA envi\u00f3 el aviso requerido a la ACHP el 17 de diciembre, esperando una respuesta dentro de los 15 d\u00edas requeridos. Sin la carta de autorizaci\u00f3n de ACHP, la EDA no pudo gastar nada de los d\u00f3lares federales en ning\u00fan aspecto de la construcci\u00f3n del nuevo edificio de la escuela, ni siquiera en las evaluaciones preliminares, a pesar de que los fondos ya estaban aprobados. Cuando la universidad contact\u00f3 a Jeff, su equipo salt\u00f3 a la acci\u00f3n. En menos de 24 horas, la ACHP entreg\u00f3 la carta que el colegio esperaba desde diciembre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Dr. Scott y toda la comunidad SWOCC estaban encantados. Una vez terminado, el nuevo Edificio de Tecnolog\u00eda Cient\u00edfica y de Salud de SWOCC brindar\u00e1 beneficios econ\u00f3micos inmediatos ya largo plazo a la Costa Sur.
