UU. de Oreg\u00f3n, Jeff Merkley, y la Senadora Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) anunciaron hoy que su <i>Ley de Provisi\u00f3n de Protecci\u00f3n Materna Urgente (PUMP, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) para madres lactantes <\/i>fue aprobada con un abrumador apoyo bipartidista como una enmienda al paquete de asignaciones generales del Congreso para el a\u00f1o fiscal 2023, que se espera sea aprobada por ambas c\u00e1maras del Congreso y promulgada por el presidente Biden esta semana.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"paragraph\">\u201cLa lactancia materna es excelente para el beb\u00e9 y excelente para las mam\u00e1s\u201d, <b>dijo el senador Merkley.<\/b> \u201cDebemos hacer posible que cada nueva mam\u00e1 que regresa al lugar de trabajo tenga la opci\u00f3n de continuar amamantando. Esa opci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n es muy buena para los negocios. Con este proyecto de ley, los padres podr\u00e1n tomar sus propias decisiones sobre la lactancia materna y las empresas pueden mejorar la retenci\u00f3n de empleados valiosos.
