Scientists estimate millions of tons of microfibers enter the ocean every year\u2014making <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/30803634\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">textiles the largest known source of marine microplastic pollution<\/a>. El <em>Fighting Fibers Act<\/em> focuses on one of the most significant sources of this pollution: our laundry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe know microplastics negatively affect human health and our environment.
