Oregon\u2019s U.S. Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden recently
\nannounced a total of $72,211,884.93 in U.S. Department of Homeland Security
\nFederal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awards.<\/p>\n
These funds are intended to help various organizations and
\ndepartments around Oregon to financially recover from disaster and emergency
\nresponse efforts and to repair critical infrastructure from extreme weather
\nevents.<\/p>\n
\u201cNatural disasters and emergencies can strike at any time,
\nrequiring emergency responses during and in the immediate aftermath of the
\nevent,\u201d said Merkley. \u201cThis FEMA funding, which is going to Oregon communities
\nand agencies that have been impacted by wildfires, winter storms, and the
\nCOVID-19 pandemic, is crucial to ensuring our communities are able to recover
\nquickly and will support future preventative measures to protect Oregonians in
\nevery corner of the state from natural disasters when they strike.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is welcome news for Oregon communities working hard on
\nthe three R\u2019s that follow natural disasters — response, recovery and rebound,\u201d
\nWyden said. \u201cThese federal resources are a must to help our entire state in the
\nwake of weather-related disasters and the fallout from COVID on emergency
\nresponse statewide to the unprecedented public health crisis. I\u2019ll always keep
\nfighting to ensure Oregonians get similar federal assistance whenever disasters
\nhit.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nflooding, landslides, and mudslides.<\/p>\n
$2,013,729.82 to the Oregon Department of Corrections for
\nemergency protective measures as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic.<\/p>\n
$2,008,180.97 Oregon Department of Forestry for emergency
\nprotective measures as a result of wildfires and straight-line winds.<\/p>\n
$1,696,398.75 To Eugene Water and Electric Board (EWEB) for
\npermanent repairs as a result of wildfires and straight-line winds.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
$1,423,569.51 to the City of West Linn for Public Assistance
\nAlternate Procedures (PAAP) debris removal operations as a result of winter
