{"id":20839,"date":"2024-10-20T13:30:24","date_gmt":"2024-10-20T17:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.merkley.senate.gov\/?p=20839"},"modified":"2024-11-14T13:31:35","modified_gmt":"2024-11-14T18:31:35","slug":"over-1-8-million-to-be-invested-in-manufacturing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.merkley.senate.gov\/es\/over-1-8-million-to-be-invested-in-manufacturing\/","title":{"rendered":"Over $1.8 million to be invested in manufacturing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cannonbeachgazette.com\/news\/over-1-8-million-to-be-invested-in-manufacturing\/article_d8293e21-4333-5e25-8b2d-9ab2069d614a.html\">Gaceta de Cannon Beach<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership (OMEP) will receive $1,852,748 to bolster Oregon manufacturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funding will provide public-private partnerships to small and medium-sized manufacturers across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funding comes from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as a part of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MEP program works through collaborations at the federal, state, and local levels, and\u202fwith manufacturers to develop new products and customers, expand and diversify markets, adopt new technology, and enhance value within supply chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oregon\u2019s U.S. senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden announced the funding Sept. 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf we don\u2019t make things in America, we won\u2019t have a middle class in America, and when Oregon\u2019s manufacturing industry does well, all Oregonians benefit,\u201d Merkley said. \u201cThis funding gives the Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership the support it needs to provide local manufacturers with opportunities to grow and be competitive in the global marketplace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe manufacturing that generates good-paying jobs throughout Oregon doesn\u2019t happen by osmosis; it requires smart and targeted investments just like this,\u201d Wyden said. \u201cI\u2019m gratified the Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership has earned these federal resources, and I\u2019ll keep teaming up with our state\u2019s manufacturers to secure the investments they need to thrive.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cannon Beach Gazette The Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership (OMEP) will receive $1,852,748 to bolster Oregon manufacturers.
