WASHINGTON, D.C. \u2014 Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley
\nhave announced $1.2 million combined from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
\nwill go to Roseburg Regional Airport and Southwest Oregon Regional Airport for
\nimprovements and expansions.<\/p>\n

\u201cOregonians and small businesses in rural parts of the state
\ncount on reliable air service and modern infrastructure to send their products
\nand generate local jobs,\u201d Wyden said. \u201cThe Bipartisan Infrastructure Law I am
\nproud to have supported helps small airports like the ones in North Bend and
\nRoseburg maintain and expand their infrastructure in order to support Oregon\u2019s
\neconomic growth in a global market.”<\/p>\n

In a joint statement, the senators announced that Southwest
\nOregon Regional Airport<\/a> in North Bend will receive more that $1
\nmillion for a project that updates the existing northwest apron pavement that
\nhas reached the end of its useful life and adds another southwest apron to
\naccommodate increased local use.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Southwest Oregon Regional Airport is eager to put these
\nfunds to use toward a new aircraft apron that will accommodate the increase in
\nairport users that the Oregon Coast is experiencing. Additionally this will
\nprovide a connectivity to our soon to be constructed, intermodal Air Cargo
\nFacility,\u201d said Theresa Cook, Executive Director of Coos County Airport
\nDistrito.<\/p>\n

Roseburgo
\nRegional Airport<\/a> will receive $200,000 to reconfigure its Taxiway A to
\nmeet Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) design standards.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so appreciative of this grant for making the design
\npossible and thank the Oregon delegation and FAA for making this safety
\nimprovement a reality,\u201d said Roseburg City Manager Nikki Messenger. \u201cWe have
\nbeen looking forward to extending the taxiway to match the runway length for
