On the same day that Treasury announced its plan to put President Trump\u2019s signature on currency, mortgage rates climbed to \u2018the highest level since the first week of September (2025)\u2019 in response to the President\u2019s illegal war in Iran, \u2018squeezing Americans already struggling with high housing costs,\u2019\u201d <strong>escribieron los senadores.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development projected that inflation in the U.S. would top four percent in 2026, \u2018more than one percentage point higher than the group\u2019s previous forecast\u2019 and driven, once again, by President Trump\u2019s reckless military actions in the Middle East. The S&amp;P 500 dropped 1.7 percent, its \u2018biggest daily decline since January,\u2019 driven in part by steadily rising oil prices,\u201d <strong>escribieron los senadores.<\/strong> \u201cThis single day of bad economic news follows a year of rising costs for Americans. In 2025, for example, Americans were forced to shell out an additional $1,700 to pay for the President\u2019s chaotic, illegal tariffs. The cost of groceries, housing, and electricity went up, as did inflation.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>The Senators concluded: <\/strong>\u201cIn other words, life is becoming less, not more, affordable for Americans\u2013and the President\u2019s response, it seems, is to put his name on currency and declare, with no evidence, that our nation is experiencing a \u2018Golden Age\u2019 of prosperity.
