New Senate Democratic Working Group to Expose the Cost of Corruption for American Families, Develop Legislation to Stop Presidential Profiteering<\/em> Releases New Report: \u201cThe Cost of Corruption: How Trump Turns Power into Profit at Americans\u2019 Expense\u201d<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Washington, D.C. \u2013 Today, Oregon\u2019s U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley joined his colleagues to launch a new Senate Democratic anti-corruption initiative aimed at exposing President Trump\u2019s rampant self-dealing, showing how his corruption costs American families, and developing legislation to prevent presidents from using public office for personal profit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative includes a new Senate Democratic anti-corruption working group and the release of a report,\u00a0\u201c<\/strong>The Cost of Corruption: How Trump Turns Power into Profit at Americans\u2019 Expense<\/strong><\/a>.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0The working group will expose the Trump Administration\u2019s abuses, identify the financial harm inflicted on taxpayers and working families, and develop reforms to stop future presidents from exploiting the power of the White House for their own enrichment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Trump swamp of corruption is a mile deep and MEGA-wide,\u201d<\/strong> dijo Merkley. \u201cTrump and his family use his office and official connections to rake in billions for themselves at every turn.
