WASHINGTON DC<\/span><\/strong> <\/span>\u2014 El representante Greg Walden (R-OR) y los senadores Jeff Merkley (D-OR) y Ron Wyden (D-OR) aplaudieron la promulgaci\u00f3n de un proyecto de ley presentado por la delegaci\u00f3n de Oreg\u00f3n para cambiar el nombre del Departamento de Asuntos de Veteranos (VA) de EE. UU. cl\u00ednica en Bend despu\u00e9s de Robert Maxwell, un veterano de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y ganador de la Medalla de Honor que viv\u00eda en Bend. El proyecto de ley se convirti\u00f3 en ley el martes 13 de octubre de 2020.<\/p>\n

En el momento del fallecimiento de Maxwell, era el ganador de la Medalla de Honor de mayor edad en la naci\u00f3n y uno de los cuatro veteranos restantes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial en recibir la Medalla de Honor. Despu\u00e9s de su valiente servicio, trabaj\u00f3 como maestro en Bend. <\/span><\/p>\n
