\u201cEstos informes recientes, que alegan que el DHS ha desplegado tecnolog\u00edas de vigilancia de alta tecnolog\u00eda contra los manifestantes en Portland, plantean serias preocupaciones, que el Congreso tiene la responsabilidad de investigar\u201d.<\/b> escribieron en una carta al secretario interino de Seguridad Nacional, Chad Wolf, a quien tanto la Oficina de Responsabilidad del Gobierno como un juez federal han declarado que ocupa su puesto de manera ilegal.   <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Para evitar que el gobierno infrinja los derechos constitucionales de los estadounidenses a la libertad de expresi\u00f3n y la privacidad, cualquier vigilancia o registro telef\u00f3nico requiere la aprobaci\u00f3n de un juez independiente, excepto en situaciones de emergencia, se\u00f1alaron los miembros.  <\/p>\n

Le pidieron al DHS que respondiera a las siguientes preguntas antes del 9 de octubre:<\/p>\n

Durante una sesi\u00f3n informativa del 23 de julio de 2020 para el personal del comit\u00e9 de inteligencia del Senado, Brian Murphy, entonces subsecretario interino de Inteligencia y An\u00e1lisis (I&A), declar\u00f3 que DHS I&A no hab\u00eda recopilado, explotado ni analizado informaci\u00f3n obtenida de los dispositivos o cuentas de manifestantes o detenidos El 31 de julio de 2020, el Senador Wyden y otros seis Senadores del Comit\u00e9 Selecto de Inteligencia del Senado le escribieron al Sr. Murphy para confirmar la declaraci\u00f3n que hab\u00eda hecho al personal del comit\u00e9. DHS a\u00fan no ha respondido a esa carta. Confirme si la declaraci\u00f3n del Sr. Murphy durante la sesi\u00f3n informativa del 23 de julio de 2020 fue precisa en ese momento y si sigue siendo precisa.<\/li>\n
  2. \u00bfHa obtenido o analizado el DHS, ya sea directamente o con la ayuda de cualquier otra agencia gubernamental, datos extra\u00eddos de los tel\u00e9fonos de los manifestantes en Portland? En caso afirmativo, para cada tel\u00e9fono, \u00bfobtuvo el gobierno autorizaci\u00f3n previa de un juez antes de extraer datos?<\/li>\n
