Washington DC - <\/i>U.S. Sens. Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley today announced that Jackson, Yamhill, Linn and Benton counties will receive about $2.97 million to help residents with housing choice vouchers during COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n

”With the ongoing economic and public health wallop of COVID-19 now compounded by wildfires threatening so many Oregonians, these housing funds are especially timely,“<\/b> dijo Wyden. “I’m glad these resources have been secured for Oregonians and I will keep fighting to make sure that all possible federal aid, housing and otherwise, heads to our state.” <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

“Every Oregonian needs and deserves a roof over their head—especially right now, as wildfire smoke blankets our state and the coronavirus continues to ravage the country,” <\/b>dijo Merkley. “These grants will help provide residents with the critical housing assistance they need to stay safe during this turbulent chapter. And while they’ll make a difference for Oregonians in Jackson, Yamhill, Linn and Benton counties, I know more counties are in need, and will keep fighting to bring as much support as possible to all of our communities.”<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The supplemental funding for the housing choice voucher program is authorized by the Ley de Ayuda, Alivio y Seguridad Econ\u00f3mica por el Coronavirus (CARES)<\/i> para prevenir, prepararse y responder al coronavirus.<\/span><\/h1>\n

The $2.97 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will be distributed as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Housing Authority of Jackson County, $941,169<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Housing Authority of Yamhill County, $992,955<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Linn-Benton Housing Authority, $1.04 million<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
