\u201cHace diez a\u00f1os, en medio de la peor crisis financiera que hab\u00eda experimentado Estados Unidos desde la Gran Depresi\u00f3n, el Congreso y la administraci\u00f3n Obama se unieron para cerrar las peores pr\u00e1cticas abusivas de las grandes instituciones financieras que hab\u00edan causado estragos en nuestra econom\u00eda y el sustento de millones de familias estadounidenses trabajadoras.<\/p>\n

\u201cCon Dodd-Frank, nos propusimos asegurarnos de que la imprudencia desenfrenada en Wall Street nunca m\u00e1s arruinar\u00eda Main Street. Me enorgulleci\u00f3 desempe\u00f1ar un papel en la elaboraci\u00f3n de esta legislaci\u00f3n y luchar por disposiciones clave para proteger a los consumidores y nuestra econom\u00eda.<\/p>\n

Su objetivo es simple: permitir la b\u00fasqueda incesante de ganancias a corto plazo de Wall Street para unos pocos a expensas de sus clientes y todos los dem\u00e1s que dependen de un sistema bancario estable.<\/p>\n

\u201cA medida que nuestra naci\u00f3n enfrenta nuevamente una cat\u00e1strofe econ\u00f3mica \u00fanica en la vida, debemos prestar atenci\u00f3n a las lecciones del \u00faltimo colapso y la larga pero tibia recuperaci\u00f3n que sigui\u00f3. Cuando los intereses de un pu\u00f1ado de \u00e9lites ricas manipulan la econom\u00eda, el resto de nosotros terminamos perdiendo lo que tenemos en el peor de los casos o trabajando m\u00e1s duro que nunca para mantenernos a flote en el mejor de los casos.
