Washington DC<\/i><\/b> \u2013 Los senadores de Oreg\u00f3n Ron Wyden y Jeff Merkley y los representantes Earl Blumenauer, Suzanne Bonamici, Peter DeFazio, Kurt Schrader y Greg Walden hoy presionado<\/a> al nuevo jefe del Servicio Forestal de los EE. UU. por su plena cooperaci\u00f3n para llevar recursos muy necesarios a las comunidades devastadas por los incendios forestales en todo Oreg\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

En una carta al Jefe del Servicio Forestal Tony Tooke<\/a>, los legisladores de Oregon enfatizaron la necesidad de que las agencias, la administraci\u00f3n y el Congreso se unan para combatir los incendios catastr\u00f3ficos que arden en Oregon y el Oeste.<\/p>\n

\u201cCuando se trata de la gesti\u00f3n forestal nacional en Oreg\u00f3n, necesitamos toda la atenci\u00f3n de la administraci\u00f3n, incluida la plena cooperaci\u00f3n del Servicio Forestal de los Estados Unidos\u201d, escribieron los legisladores.<\/p>\n

Esta semana, el Congreso aprob\u00f3 una legislaci\u00f3n que proporcionar\u00e1 fondos de emergencia para combatir incendios forestales como parte de un proyecto de ley m\u00e1s amplio para brindar ayuda en casos de desastre y financiar al gobierno hasta el 8 de diciembre.<\/p>\n

La legislaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n har\u00e1 posible a partir del 1 de octubre que el Servicio Forestal reembolse r\u00e1pidamente los fondos que necesitar\u00e1 pedir prestado en las pr\u00f3ximas semanas para continuar luchando contra los casi 1,5 millones de acres de tierra que actualmente se est\u00e1n quemando en nueve estados del oeste.
