En la planta baja alberga algunos locales comerciales destacados: Tanner Goods y un nuevo bar, Wayback. Las tres plantas superiores son oficinas. Pero lo realmente llamativo es el material que las une. En lugar de acero y hormig\u00f3n, los suelos, techos y columnas de este edificio est\u00e1n hechos de madera laminada cruzada, o CLT por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Randy Gragg, columnista residente de arquitectura de State of Wonder, nos visit\u00f3 para hablar sobre c\u00f3mo la madera contralaminada (CLT) est\u00e1 llamada a revolucionar la construcci\u00f3n, ofreciendo un material prefabricado que se construye m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido, es m\u00e1s resistente a los terremotos y m\u00e1s sostenible que las pr\u00e1cticas tradicionales; por no mencionar c\u00f3mo puede impulsar las econom\u00edas rurales.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cUna buena analog\u00eda para m\u00ed ser\u00eda pensar en ello como un armario de IKEA muy grande, donde cada pieza est\u00e1 mecanizada con precisi\u00f3n y luego ensamblada con conectores de acero\u201d, dijo Thomas Robinson, socio de Lever, el estudio de arquitectura que dise\u00f1\u00f3 Albina Yard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>La semana pasada, Lever recibi\u00f3 la aprobaci\u00f3n del dise\u00f1o para un rascacielos de 11 pisos en el distrito Pearl llamado Framework.
