Causan c\u00e1ncer, defectos de nacimiento, problemas de aprendizaje y muchos otros problemas de salud graves. Es inaceptable que estos productos qu\u00edmicos entren en tantos productos utilizados por familias y ni\u00f1os, incluso sof\u00e1s y colchones, pero pr\u00e1cticamente no hay l\u00edmites para su uso. Mi proyecto de ley ayudar\u00eda a proteger a familias inocentes de enfermedades mortales y dejar\u00eda nuestro entorno m\u00e1s seguro y habitable\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>El proyecto de ley, la Ley de Protecci\u00f3n de las Familias Estadounidenses contra los Productos Qu\u00edmicos T\u00f3xicos, requerir\u00eda que los reguladores federales eliminen la mayor\u00eda de las aplicaciones de PBT dentro de los pr\u00f3ximos cinco a\u00f1os. La eliminaci\u00f3n se aplicar\u00eda a todos los usos, excepto cuando la eliminaci\u00f3n de un qu\u00edmico da\u00f1ar\u00eda la seguridad nacional o causar\u00eda una interrupci\u00f3n significativa en la econom\u00eda, y donde no haya alternativa.<\/p>\n<p>Los ejemplos de productos qu\u00edmicos abordados en el proyecto de ley incluyen mercurio, plomo, retardantes de llama y PFOS.
