La enmienda pide a la Administraci\u00f3n que ponga fin a las operaciones de combate regulares lo antes posible, de conformidad con una retirada segura y ordenada de las tropas estadounidenses en Afganist\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cEs hora de traer a nuestros hijos e hijas de Afganist\u00e1n a casa y poner fin a la guerra m\u00e1s larga en la historia de Estados Unidos\u201d. <strong>dijo Merkley.<\/strong> \u201cHemos cumplido nuestra misi\u00f3n inicial de destruir los campos de entrenamiento de Al Qaeda en Afganist\u00e1n y perseguir a los responsables del 11 de septiembre. Es hora de traer nuestras tropas a casa y comenzar a invertir en la construcci\u00f3n de nuestra propia naci\u00f3n\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cNuestros hombres y mujeres uniformados han servido a Estados Unidos con honor en Afganist\u00e1n, y debemos honrarlos poniendo fin a esta guerra de larga duraci\u00f3n y trayendolos a casa lo antes posible\u201d. <strong>dijo Pablo.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>La enmienda apoya el compromiso del Presidente de reducir constantemente los niveles de tropas estadounidenses y de traspasar la responsabilidad principal de la seguridad al gobierno de Afganist\u00e1n a mediados del verano de 2013.
