Washington, DC \u2013 El Senador de Oreg\u00f3n, Jeff Merkley, emiti\u00f3 la siguiente declaraci\u00f3n hoy despu\u00e9s de que el proyecto de ley de Seguridad Cibern\u00e9tica no pasara una votaci\u00f3n de clausura.<\/p>\n

\u201cVot\u00e9 en contra de terminar el debate sobre este proyecto de ley la \u00faltima vez y volv\u00ed a votar no hoy porque este proyecto de ley necesita mejoras. Hay muchas enmiendas que los Senadores propusieron en julio que no hemos debatido. El proyecto de ley de hoy es el mismo proyecto de ley defectuoso que fracas\u00f3 a principios de este a\u00f1o. El proyecto de ley proporciona a las empresas privadas una nueva y amplia autoridad para recopilar y controlar las comunicaciones de los estadounidenses, sin exigir a la industria que realice cambios que proteger\u00edan mejor la infraestructura de nuestra naci\u00f3n. Este es un tema que merece un debate significativo y una cuidadosa consideraci\u00f3n por parte del Congreso. Debemos permitir m\u00e1s debates y enmiendas sobre este proyecto de ley\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
