Durante las \u00faltimas tres d\u00e9cadas y media, a los ricos les ha ido muy bien, mientras que la clase media se ha estancado o peor. Estoy de acuerdo con el presidente en que se necesita hacer mucho m\u00e1s para ayudar a reconstruir la clase media estadounidense y apoyar a nuestras familias trabajadoras.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMe alienta que el presidente Obama se d\u00e9 cuenta de que se necesita hacer m\u00e1s para enfrentar el colapso de las ejecuciones hipotecarias. Los \u00faltimos tres a\u00f1os han visto medidas modestas que no han logrado detener la ola masiva de ejecuciones hipotecarias que han abrumado a muchas comunidades. Debemos aportar la misma energ\u00eda y compromiso que se utiliz\u00f3 para salvar el sector financiero en 2008 y 2009 para ayudar a estabilizar y restaurar nuestro mercado inmobiliario. Con cinco a ocho millones m\u00e1s de ejecuciones hipotecarias en el horizonte, debemos hacer todo lo posible para mantener a las familias en sus hogares. Es lo correcto para esas familias y es esencial para una recuperaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica sostenida. Esta recesi\u00f3n comenz\u00f3 con el colapso del mercado de la vivienda, y hasta que nos ocupemos de las ejecuciones hipotecarias, las hipotecas subacu\u00e1ticas y la ca\u00edda del valor de las viviendas, no lograremos que nuestra econom\u00eda vuelva a la normalidad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSi vamos a rehacer nuestra econom\u00eda para que una vez m\u00e1s la oportunidad y la prosperidad de las familias de clase media y las peque\u00f1as empresas sean la m\u00e1xima prioridad, tenemos que poner fin a los abusos y excesos en Wall Street que causaron nuestra crisis econ\u00f3mica. Eso es exactamente lo que pretend\u00edamos hacer con las disposiciones de Merkley-Levin para poner fin a los juegos de azar de alto riesgo con dep\u00f3sitos respaldados por los contribuyentes. Me complace que el presidente Obama haya reafirmado su apoyo a esta regla de sentido com\u00fan y las dem\u00e1s reglas del camino que devolver\u00e1n la responsabilidad y la estabilidad a nuestro sistema bancario.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTambi\u00e9n aprecio el \u00e9nfasis del presidente en la reconstrucci\u00f3n de nuestra base de fabricaci\u00f3n. En los \u00faltimos veinte a\u00f1os hemos visto desaparecer millones de puestos de trabajo en el extranjero. Eso es inaceptable. Si no construimos cosas en Estados Unidos, no tendremos una clase media en Estados Unidos. Las pr\u00e1cticas comerciales desleales de China est\u00e1n provocando una gran p\u00e9rdida de empleos en la industria manufacturera de Estados Unidos, y aplaudo al presidente por comprometerse a poner fin a estas pr\u00e1cticas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cY estoy totalmente de acuerdo con el presidente Obama en que no podremos cumplir estos objetivos de manera efectiva si no arreglamos las reglas incumplidas en el Senado de los Estados Unidos. He estado presionando por reformas durante m\u00e1s de un a\u00f1o, y continuar\u00e9 presionando por reformas para que el Senado pueda ocuparse de los asuntos de la gente.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn pocas palabras: tenemos que elegir en qu\u00e9 tipo de pa\u00eds queremos vivir. El presidente present\u00f3 una visi\u00f3n de un pa\u00eds que se une para enfrentar grandes desaf\u00edos y asegurarse de que nuestra econom\u00eda funcione, no para el 1% o el 10%. pero para 100% de americanos.
