El proyecto de ley fue presentado por el Senador de Oreg\u00f3n Jeff Merkley con los Senadores Jon Kyl (R-AZ) y Richard Burr (R-NC), y fue aprobado por unanimidad en el Senado el mes pasado. Merkley se uni\u00f3 hoy al presidente Obama en la Oficina Oval para la ceremonia oficial de firma. El proyecto de ley bipartidista criminaliza la creaci\u00f3n, venta, distribuci\u00f3n, publicidad, mercadeo e intercambio de videos de aplastamiento de animales.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHoy marca una victoria contra la cruel tortura y matanza de animales\u201d, dijo Merkley. \u201cAl tomar medidas en\u00e9rgicas contra la creaci\u00f3n y distribuci\u00f3n de videos de aplastamiento, esta ley bipartidista protege efectivamente tanto a los animales como a la libertad de expresi\u00f3n\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Los videos de aplastamiento son videos que muestran a personas mutilando animales peque\u00f1os con sus pies.
