Estableci\u00f3 la verdadera prueba de la determinaci\u00f3n de los dem\u00f3cratas de promulgar el tipo de cambio que tanto necesita el sistema financiero de la naci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Lograr eso requiere aprobar enmiendas para fortalecer las \u00e1reas d\u00e9biles del proyecto de ley y derrotar los esfuerzos para debilitar sus partes fuertes. Los l\u00edderes del Senado pueden tratar de salvar las divisiones partidistas obstaculizando o bloqueando las enmiendas sobre temas divisivos. Eso permitir\u00eda a los reformadores reacios de ambos partidos evitar votaciones pol\u00edticamente dif\u00edciles y apaciguar al lobby bancario, pero no servir\u00eda al inter\u00e9s p\u00fablico. <\/p>\n<p>Para el momento en que se apruebe este proyecto de ley, el p\u00fablico debe saber qui\u00e9n se encuentra en cada uno de los temas de reforma m\u00e1s importantes, comenzando con estos dos:<\/p>\n<p>DEMASIADO GRANDE PARA FRACASAR Los senadores dijeron el martes que hab\u00edan llegado a un acuerdo sobre c\u00f3mo pagar la incautaci\u00f3n y el desmantelamiento de los grandes bancos cuya quiebra inminente podr\u00eda desestabilizar el sistema, pero eso no enfrenta el tema m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil de c\u00f3mo reducir los grandes bancos a un m\u00ednimo. tama\u00f1o menos amenazador. El proyecto de ley del Senado insta a los reguladores a imponer requisitos de capital m\u00e1s altos a las instituciones m\u00e1s riesgosas.
