Merkley Launches New Website

Washington, D.C. – Oregon’s Senator Jeff Merkley unveiled his new website today to connect with Oregonians and keep them informed on the work he’s doing in Washington, D.C.

The new website features a media center, an extensive “About Oregon” section highlighting every region in the state, and a wealth of resources for Oregon students and veterans.  Merkley will utilize social networking tools such as Facebook and YouTube as part of a larger multimedia effort to connect with Oregonians via the internet.

I wanted a website that really embodied Oregon – a site that is creative, innovative, and resourceful,” said Merkley. My website is the place where Oregonians can find information and assistance they need, as well as keep up-to-date on the work I’m doing in Washington, D.C. and share their opinions.  If Oregonians are visiting the nation’s capitol, they can use my website to help plan their trip. They can also find out how to meet me and my staff for a cup of Oregon coffee and conversation.”

There will be several additions to the website in the coming months, including features to encourage active participation and feedback from constituents.  Senator Merkley’s goal is to create a website that becomes an interactive hub where Oregonians can connect directly with him.

The internet is a valuable tool for Oregonians looking to stay connected to what’s happening in the world,” said Merkley. It’s important to me that my office provides the digital tools Oregonians need to keep in touch with me.  I hope Oregonians use my website to share their opinions and concerns and to follow the issues I’m working on in our nation’s capitol.
