PORTLAND, OR – Oregon’s Senator Jeff Merkley released the following statement about Rep. Bob Jenson, who served in the Oregon Legislature for nine terms. He died Saturday.
“I am honored to have served with Rep. Bob Jenson in the Oregon Legislature. Bob was a good friend; it was always wonderful to visit him and his wife Evelyn at their home in Pendleton,” Merkley said. “In politics, it didn’t matter to him if you were a Democrat or a Republican; no matter your party, Bob focused on the fundamentals—good-paying jobs, affordable health care, quality education. It was a privilege and pleasure to know him and to work with him. He will be missed.”
