Merkley Statement On President Obama’s Endorsement Of The Equality Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Oregon’s Senator Jeff Merkley released the following statement after the White House expressed support for the Equality Act:
“Today’s announcement of the White House’s support for the Equality Act is big news and a positive step toward greater equality and rights for all Americans. Our nation should never settle for anything less than full equality and full rights for every single American, regardless of who you are or whom you love. Congress must act to extend basic equal rights to all Americans, and Congress’s action is even more urgent now that the President has voiced his strong support for the Equality Act.”
